FALLing for Music
Happy Fall, Ya'll!
This is my favorite time of the year, the seasons change, Pumpkin Spice everything, this is when I fell in love with my Husband-ten years ago. Music is paramount right now. Harvest Festivals are everywhere and Holiday party bookings are around the corner. I love it!
This time of year is preparation time for my place of employment, Feasts and the Holidays. Many of you do not know that I am a Music Liturgist. For 33 years I have been preparing/writing music, Cantor leadership and some conducting at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Modesto, Ca. This was some of my greatest training in "performance", with a live audience and I learned to sing in Latin, Spanish, Italian and even a little Armenian and Russian. I have been blessed to have traveled to Roma with my choir and sing a solo piece for His Holiness the late Pope John Paul II and be the Cantor at the Mass in the Basilica dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi. This is where it all began and where my heart is. I am so ready to sing "O Come O Come Emmanuel" and "Mary Did You Know" as well as "Run, run, Rudolph". I never forget where the gift came from and I will be there until it goes away. Rock on and God bless!
P.S. Did you ever hear how I got my nickname? LaLa?
